NY Times recently featured a frugal traveller segment on Cancun. I personally don't love Cancun ---- think San Juan, PR or Miami but 100x touristy. But the segment suggests Puerto Juarez, which isn't too far out from Cancun. Check out Villa Playa Blanca, a $45 a night B&B, it doesn't get any better than this. I'm all for supporting small businesses. If you visit, let me know how it is! And don't forgot a few pretty dresses for the nice warm days and nights!
